The Soul is paired with the Heart Nebula in the night sky; together they form one of the most beautiful regions of star formation in the northern sky. The red glow you can see is hydrogen gas being lit from within by young stars being born inside the dark dust knots. Some of those star factories are visible as the dark patches inside the red — that's where new suns are forming right now.
